ABOUT THE PRACTICE

There is no shortage of access to modern medicine and pharmaceuticals in this day and age.
But what about quality, holistic care? Where can families go for that? What if I told you that you do not even
have to leave your home to have an in-person consult with an integrative provider?!

Healing from the Root is the first practice, in a long time, to take health care back to its roots - house calls.
Throughout her time as a medical professional, Laura has dedicated her career to addressing the health care
deficits in our current "symptom management" system.  She founded this practice as a way to serve her community by providing quality, integrative care to all who desire it. She serves the northern Dayton, Ohio area providing consultations via house calls and classes. Laura also offers virtual consultations and phone consults for any location.  If you
desire a house call but are outside of the Dayton area or finances are just tight right now, look into being a site host! Services are for ANY AGE! So, whether you have a newborn baby, an elderly loved one, or anyone in between, Laura would love to serve your family!

Meet our provider

Laura Churchman, CPNP, CTP, HHC

CEO of Healing from the Root
Laura Churchman is a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP), a Certified Tribal Practitioner (CTP), and a Holistic Health Coach (HHC). She received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees at Wright State University. As a Registered Nurse (RN) she has worked in the hospital cardiac stepdown unit, pediatric and adult homecare, primary care pediatrics, as well as case management for the under-privileged elderly in Dayton, Ohio.  As a CPNP, she practiced at Integrative Pediatrics (IP) in Portland, Oregon for two and a half years. During her time at IP, she pursued a CTP license from the First Nation Medical Board in order to have accountability from a board knowledgeable in integrative medicine.  She is currently licensed in Ohio as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner. She completed the Holistic Health Coaching program at Trinity School of Natural Health in September 2021. She is currently enrolled in the Certified Holistic Health Practitioner (CHHP) program at Trinity and will complete this program June 26th, 2023. Once completed, she is qualified to be licensed as a Board-Certified Naturopathic Doctor, if she so chooses.

Laura practices holistic care with an integrative perspective. She has been trained in modern medicine and has practice experience with integrative medicine. In her experience, this balanced approach to care has been the only way to true, optimal health. It requires a partnership between her and each client. Laura listens to each person's story and, through assessment techniques, holistic options for care, and client dedication, she addresses the basic fundamental foundations of health and recommendations as appropriate, helping people to achieve their best health.
Laura will work with you to identify the root cause of symptoms and how to support your body to prevent illness by developing an individualized plan of care specifically for you!

Laura is so excited to implement the amazing information she has learned through the programs at Trinity! Some of the new treatment modalities include herbal support, reflexology, and acupressure!

She is not a Primary Care Provider (PCP) and does not prescribe pharmaceuticals. However, she is knowledgeable about when pharmaceuticals might be warranted. Many times, pharmaceuticals only address the symptoms, although there are appropriate times for this, it often ends up actually being a deterrent to optimal health. In cases where pharmaceuticals or lab work is warranted, she makes the client aware and encourages them to discuss this with their PCP or specialist.
All services are for members only or by purchasing a day pass. See the Membership page for more information. ALL members have access to telehealth and phone consults!
